The Oath

When former child prodigy Dr. Tamiria Miles accepts a teaching position at UTOPIA University, she intends to make the most of the opportunity after a slew of losses. To do this, she plans to stick to conventional medicine and leave magic firmly alone. She knows better than most that every spell comes at a cost.

But UTOPIA isn’t the safe haven she hoped it would be. Students are disappearing, magic addiction runs rampant through the campus, and her own students are starting to ask dangerous questions. With her best friend lying comatose as a reminder of magic’s true price, Tamiria must choose between protecting her students and maintaining the safe distance she’s kept from magic for years.
